Pastor Dennis Coy is a Licensed Minister of the United Church of Christ and began serving as Pastor of Congregational UCC on January 12, 2014.  

 

At the Thirtieth General Synod of the United Church of Christ held in Cleveland, Ohio in June of 2015, Dennis was elected to serve as a member of the United Church of Christ Board of Directors for a six year term, helping to provide leadership and guidance to the direction of the 1.1 Million member United Church of Christ into the future (www.ucc.org).   

 

Dennis is a bi-vocational pastor and continues to enjoy a career in the criminal investigations, anti-money laundering, and compliance world, but continues to follow his call to ministry and develop his pastoral work with the church.  Dennis is a passionate advocate of many social justice and humanitarian issues facing our world today and works with our church family to identify ways we can work to improve the world around us.  

 

With a deep belief in Progressive Christianity and the centrality of the instruction to "love one another" as Jesus taught, with a focus on open acceptance of human diversity, Dennis works tirelessly for equality and inclusiveness for all, care for the poor and the oppressed, and environmental stewardship of the Earth.

Dennis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies degree with a concentration in Law & Social Justice from Dominican University, and received his Divinity studies from the University of London.

 

Dennis lives in North Canton with his husband Greg and their Great Dane, Duke.
